Culture

This is another photograph my grandfather took.  This was taken in Iran when the Shaw was still in power.  Taken sometime in the 1950's.  My grandfather was on temporary duty with the U.S. Army.

Not sure what draws me to it, but it is my favorite.  I wish it was in better focus.

Heidelberg Germany

This is a photo taken by my grandfather when he was in Germany.  He had an interest in photography and took lots of pictures in his lifetime.  This one is very interesting to me.  It isn't everyday you see elephants walking down the street.

Exposure 1/640 sec

I love stopping on the side of the road to take a beautiful picture.  This one was taking just a minute or two from my house one day on my way to work.  Although it is one of my favorites, there is too much glare.  Just learned that if I had used a polarizer it would have decreased the glare. Of course I can't put a polarizer on the point and shoot camera.

Took this picture July 2009 in Navarre FL on the last day of our vacation at sunrise.  It is one of my favorites of the entire trip.  It was worth the walk.

Seasons

These are pictures of my Bradford Pear Trees.  The first two were taken with my Canon Power Shot point and shoot.  The bottom one was taken with my Sony Alpha 55.  I have toyed with the idea of having all four seasons placed together, similar to this one, and hung on my wall.  But, I am missing summer when the leaves are beautifully green, and I had them trimmed this past Fall, so I don't think I will be doing my collage any time soon.  They are just gorgeous trees any time of the year.

Trying to learn my camera and how the settings affect the outcome.  Note that ISO is the only change and wow what a difference in the picture brightness.  Spent some time tonight reviewing recent pictures and noted how a change in ISO would have made the picture so much better.  Might try using Photo Shop to modify some pictures for the better.

My Snowman

My beautiful little girl is gorgeous no matter what she is doing.  I just love to take photographs of her.

Jane Magnolia Bud

Took this photo March 2011.  My Jane Magnolia tree produces these beautiful blooms, and subsequent flowers every spring for my enjoyment.  I am always so happy to see it bloom and bring color to my life.
